2017 Individual Leadership Award – CUTA recognizes an STO employee

At the annual conference of the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) in early November, the Distinguished Service Award was bestowed on Renée Lafrenière, the Director of Development, Marketing and Communications Director at the STO, for her outstanding contribution as a public transit professional. Ms. Lafrenière, who has been with the STO for 33 years, received this honour for the many initiatives carried out for public transit. This award highlights, among other things, her contribution in implementing the first generation smart card and developing the fare structure to include loyalty programs, introducing satisfaction surveys, developing a new brand image and negotiating a historic agreement between the cities of Gatineau and Ottawa in anticipation of STO service in downtown Ottawa with the arrival of light rail.
