Resumption of regular service

Published : 05-02-2017

The Société de transport de l'Outaouais (STO) hereby confirms the resumption of regular service throughout its system.

After working hard over the past several months to provide customers with a maximum of service, the STO is satisfied that regular service can resume. The STO commends all of the teams for working together, including the 477 drivers and those who maintained the fleet of 308 buses required to meet riders' mobility needs. Some 20 million trips are provided each year on the STO system.

STO management, employees and representatives would like to thank customers for travelling with us in recent months, and are committed to maintaining quality service and meeting the objective of providing a minimum of 99.5% of the 2,600 trips needed on a daily basis.
To thank customers for their loyalty and patience in recent weeks, the STO is also extending through the month of May the 25% fare discount applicable to the cost of passes and EWallets. The customary fare structure will resume on June 1.

Over the past few months, nearly 2,000 people registered for Personalized System-Info alerts, a simple and practical information tool that allows users to receive detailed information concerning selected bus routes. More than 1,300 System-Info alerts were sent to registered users. The STO recorded up to 30,000 visits per day to its Internet site, or 1.3 million visits to www.sto.ca in four months.

The Customer Relations team will maintain this wellreceived personalized communication link, and invites users who are not already registered for System-Info alerts to go to www.sto.ca to sign up.

The STO's mission is to provide public transit services for City of Gatineau residents by providing them with sustainable, high-performance transit options that allow them to travel to where they live, work, study and play.
