Public consultation report – Prolongement du Rapibus jusqu'au boulevard de l'Aéroport #2

This past June, a second public consultation was held as part of an opportunity study of the Rapibus' extension to boulevard de l'Aéroport. Over a three-week period, respondents commented on the scenarios envisaged for the future circuit and the possibilities of extending it to autoroute Guy-Lafleur (A-50).

The following are highlights of this consultation:

  • 81% of respondents were highly in favour, and 9% somewhat in favour of extending the Rapibus from boulevard Lorrain to boulevard de l'Aéroport.
  • The two circuits running along the existing train tracks were the most popular, particularly the one north of the tracks, which requires no relocation of those tracks.
  • The variant avoiding an extension to the A-50 and the one suggesting continuing the reserved lanes for public transit to the A-50 obtained similar ratings.
  • The respondents took advantage of the public consultation to highlight the importance of active modes, including accessibility to the Rapibus stations, enhancing the current public transit offer, protecting green spaces and wildlife, as well as integrating park and rides.

In total, 760 people filled out the online consultation.
