Visitor Service

The Société de transport de l'Outaouais (STO) offers paratransit service for persons with disabilities who are living temporarily in Gatineau.

To use this service during your stay in the Outaouais, you must be eligible for paratransit service where you normally live.

Service details

The STO’s paratransit service will be offered without any limitation of use except those inherent to the nature of the service.

How to submit a request

An authorization request must be made to the STO’s paratransit service by telephone at least 1 week prior to your first planned trip.

Once your request has been approved, you can make a reservation by telephone or fax.

You will be given visitor status for this service for a maximum of 14 days, subject to service availability.

Service for riders living in Ottawa

Ottawa residents eligible for Para Transpo service who wish to travel in our area can also use the STO's paratransit service from the following service points, subject to service availability.

  • Rideau Centre, at 60 George Street in Ottawa
  • Any destination served by the STO in the province of Quebec

In such a case, you must complete a reservation request at least a week before and obtain prior approval.

Special events

For special events that are not served directly by OC Transpo’s accessible transportation service, the STO undertakes to provide paratransit service.

For these special events, the STO’s paratransit service is offered between the following service points, subject to service availability and obtaining prior authorization from the STO:

  • Events sites in Gatineau, Cantley or Chelsea
  • OC Transpo bus stops located in Gatineau
  • Rideau Centre, at 60 George Street in Ottawa
