New Bus Services Starting August 29 - Start of the STO's Fall Service

Published : 08-25-2011

The Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO) would like to inform the public that its fall service will start this Monday, August 29.

Several new changes have been made to the system, for the beginning of the school year, namely the creation of bus route 24 and improvements to the service on routes 25 and 26 in the Plateau neighbourhood. Many trips have been added to various busy bus routes in all sectors of the city as well. There are also new developments, including the Allumettières terminus and incentive parking facility at the corner of Eardley and Hautes-Rives in the Aylmer sector. During the afternoon rush hour, new departure points from Place d’Accueil for some trips on routes 88 and 98 will make more seating available for riders.

Annual User’s Guide

The annual edition of the User’s Guide and the transit map have been available on the buses since August 22. These tools will be for sale for $1 at all smart card recharging sites and STO authorized ticket retail outlets starting September 5. The User’s Guide and transit map can also be viewed directly on the Société’s Web site in the Publications section.

The STO invites the public to check Plani-Bus on the Web site at sto.ca to get personalized itineraries and to find out which bus routes serve the city’s different neighbourhoods. Riders can also visit the Routes and Schedules section on the Web or contact Information at 819 770-3242 to find out the new fall schedules.

Every year, the STO invests in its system to make public transit more appealing to the public. All the improvements that will be taking effect for the start of the school year enhance the services offered and help meet the growing needs of its clientele.
