Rapibus: Overview of October 24, 2013

Yesterday during the afternoon rush hour
- 12 trips added on route 200. This made it possible to clear the volume of riders waiting at the last stops in Ottawa faster.
- 1 trip added on route 95. Other adjustments may be made to routes 93 and 95, depending on future observations.
- Discussions are in progress with the authorities concerned for improving the fluidity of buses upstream from the busy stops on Wellington in Ottawa.
Today during the morning rush hour
- 2 trips added on route 200 at De la Cité station.
- 2 trips added on route 200 at De la Gappe station.
- 1 trip added at 7:18 on route 68 at Labrosse station.
- Fluidity in the Rapibus corridor has improved significantly. However, more adjustments will be made for specific periods.
Park-and-ride
- The Cheval Blanc and Lorrain park-and-ride facilities still have parking spaces. Note that the lighting is now working at the Cheval Blanc Park-and-Ride located at the intersection of Saint-René.
- Marking and signs have been added at De la Gappe station to direct riders better.
- We are looking at the possibility of increasing the number of parking spaces available near the Rapibus stations in the Gatineau sector.
Traffic lights
- Work to optimize the traffic lights in the Rapibus corridor is continuing.
Neighbourhood routes
- An analysis is currently under way to improve the performance of neighbourhood buses.
