Nouveau réseau en vigueur le 29 août : La STO invite les usagers du secteur Aylmer à s'informer dès aujourd'hui

The Société de transport de l'Outaouais (STO) is encouraging public transit riders in Gatineau's west end to get ready for fall now by learning more about the major changes and new services for the new system in Aylmer, set to start on August 29, 2016.

The improved system in the Aylmer sector will introduce changes to the way a number of riders use the buses. To facilitate the transition, the STO has released various information in advance to help prepare those affected by the new services.

Riders are encouraged to visit sto.ca, where a complete section presenting all the aspects of this major restructuring is available as of today. It includes a PDF version of the timetables for the new system in Aylmer taken from the next edition of the annual User's Guide. Riders can also view the complete transit map for the new system and maps for routes during peak and off-peak periods in this sector. Other explanatory maps help to clarify local connections as well. Finally, two videos explaining the major new services and options offered by the new system are also posted.

The extensive restructuring of the bus system in Aylmer, which has not been updated since 2007, enables the STO to meet the current mobility needs of the population in a sector that has seen strong development over the years. Starting August 29, the new system will include routes that go right to the centre of Aylmer, improved service from the neighbourhoods and a new local route. It will offer easier connections at Galeries Aylmer and reduce pressure on the incentive parking facilities, including the Rivermead Park-and-Ride.

For more details, riders are invited to visit sto.ca/new.
