E-reading Continues on STO Buses

Published : 02-04-2013

As the 34th edition of the Salon du livre de l'Outaouais (SLO) approaches, the Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO) is inviting riders to take a trip into the world of e-books on its buses until March 8.

Since January 10, riders who have mobile devices have been able to download the first chapter of books written by guests of honour at the 34th edition of the SLO. The 2D codes for the ebooks, posted on the buses, enable public transit riders to make their trips more enjoyable.

“An initiative that offers an exclusive sneak peek at the first chapters written by featured authors at the 2013 edition of the SLO is a special opportunity for bookworms to be transported into the atmosphere of the book fair,” stated STO Chairman Patrice Martin.

In addition, the STO invites the public to take advantage of a "2 for 1" offer on the admission price to the book fair. Riders who present a valid smart card can get two admissions for the price of one at the ticket booths. They will also receive an entry form for the draw for an e-reader, a selection of books and a gift bag, worth $350 in total.

For the duration of the event, anyone who buys the four-day passport to the Salon du livre de l’Outaouais will also receive a visitor’s pass from the STO to travel for free throughout the regular bus system, including paratransit.
