Go green on your way to the Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival

Published : 08-29-2012

La Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO) is proud to partner with the Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival to make the event even greener thanks to the free Desjardins shuttle service throughout the event from August 31, to September 3.

An ongoing shuttle service will be offered from Les Promenades terminus in the Gatineau sector and every 30 minutes at strategic bus stops in the Hull sector. In the Aylmer sector and Plateau de la Capitale neighbourhood, riders will be able to board the hourly shuttles at the Galeries Aylmer Park-and-Ride, Rivermead Park-and-Ride and near the Loblaws grocery store.

The shuttle schedule will vary depending on the boarding location. In general, on Friday, August 31, shuttle trips will start at 4 p.m. and on September 1st, 2, and 3, shuttles will start running at 9:30 a.m. from the Promenades and at 1:30 p.m. from the other locations being served.

The STO would like to remind holders of Festival wrist passes that they will be able to travel for free throughout the regular bus system, starting at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 31 until the end of the event. This offer also applies to paratransit.
