Transit companies in the Outaouais region and Montreal unveil the results of joint efforts to reduce greenhouse gases
Gatineau, Wednesday, June 3, 2009 – Transit companies in the Outaouais region and Montreal (Société de transport de l’Outaouais or STO and Société de transport de Montréal or STM) unveiled today the results of a project under Transport Canada’s Urban Transportation Showcase Program (UTSP). This project was carried out with financial contributions from Transport Canada from the Quebec transportation department (Ministère des Transports du Québec or MTQ) and the participation of the cities of Gatineau and Montreal. The project, led jointly by STO and STM, assessed the ability of hybrid diesel-electric buses to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from public transportation in Gatineau and Montreal. The purpose of this project was to test out an integrated set of measures in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) and fuel consumption.
The STO Officially Opens the Ligne verte
Gatineau, Monday September 22, 2008 – Accompanied by Benoit Pelletier, Quebec Minister responsible for the Outaouais Region and MPP for Chapleau, and by Gatineau Mayor Marc Bureau, the Chairman of the Société de transport de l'Outaouais (STO), Patrice Martin, officially opened the Ligne verte on Monday, September 22, in conjunction with international "In Town, Without My Car!" day.
New reserved lanes along Gréber are now in place

Gatineau, Wednesday, June 27, 2007 – The Société de transport de l'Outaouais (STO) took advantage of its regular Board of Directors meeting today to unveil the nine buses dedicated to the Ligne Verte that began service on June 25.
Ride the STO's hybrid buses for free on Clean Air Day
Gatineau, Monday, June 4, 2007 – To highlight Clean Air Day, the Société de transport de l'Outaouais (STO) and RockDétente 94,9 Gatineau-Ottawa are pleased to invite the public to ride the two hybrid diesel-electric buses for free on Wednesday, June 6.
